My name is Chris Surro and I’m currently a graduate student studying economics at UCLA. I grew up in Massachusetts and have my undergraduate degree from Umass Amherst. My research interests focus mostly on macroeconomics (business cycles in particular) both because I think the questions are more interesting and because I don’t think the tools currently used to answer those questions are up to the task. The history of economic thought is another interest and I believe that many older economists still have important insights to offer to modern economics. Most recently, my research has been in exploring alternative methods of modeling expectations in economic models. Politically, I lean libertarian on most issues.
